Junta mobilizes youths for forthcoming elections
8 February 2010:With general elections in Burma slated to be held this year the military junta is out to woo the youth for votes. This month, the regime is mobilizing a group of youths to support it in Paletwa Township.
Thirty Burmese deported to Burma
8 February 2010: Thirty Burmese nationals were deported to Burma by the Mizoram state authorities in northeast India under the Foreigner’s Act last week.
PM Thein Sein confirms holding 2010 elections
4 February 2010: Prime Minister General Thein Sein on a visit to Chin state confirmed that the general elections in Burma will be held by the end of this year. However, he did not mention the date.
Prime Minister Thein Sein arrives in Chin state
3 February 2010-02-03: Prime Minister General Thein Sein of the State Peace and Development Council, the official name for the Burmese military junta, arrived in Chin State, western Burma this morning.
Junta conducts civil militia training
3 February 2009: The Burmese military junta has been imparting civil militia training to 30 people from three villages in southern Matupi Township, Chin state. The training began on 28 January and will end after a week.
Four robbers arrested in Aizawl
2 February 2010: Four robbers, who looted a Burmese trader’s money and mobile phone on 20 January in Aizawl, Mizoram, northeast state of India were arrested by the police.
Permits for self supported construction needed
1 February - 2010: The Chairman of the Township Peace and Development Council, Kalaymyo, Sagaing Division in Western Burma issued an order early this month saying self-supported road construction in the region will not be allowed unless a proper application is submitted to the authorities.

Junta to conduct military training for public in Paletwa
31 January 2010: The Burmese military junta is to impart military training for locals also known as Civil Militia Training in Paletwa township southern Chin state in Burma, according to reports available.
Forty-nine Burmese still in central jail

Junta orders people to shift for airport expansion
22 January 2010: The Township Peace and Development Council in Kalemyo, Sagaing division, Burma has ordered local people in Pinlun block no. 7 and 8 to move to other places before February 2010. The shift is apparently necessary for expansion of an airport.
