Investigations have revealed that the four robbers were also doing business when Mawitei’s father was doing business earlier and they knew what to rob, said a newspaper in Aizawl.
“It is shameful for us as two involved in the robbery are Chin men. The Mizo people will look down on Chin people again for this,” said a Chin in Mizoram state.
One of the robbers Ngunemthang claimed to be a villager of Vaphai, but the Vaphai Insuihkhawm Pawl (group) denied it and alleged he was a member of the Chin National Front (CNF).
However, Paulsitha, General Secretary of Chin National Front told Khonumthung News that “The Chin National Front had never heard of Ngunemthang. It is shameful that some people inside Burma misused their organization’s name for collecting money from civilians illegally.” – Khonumthung News.
